Safari overview:

This 3 Day – African Open Savannah experience in Akagera National Park  starts and ends in Kigali international Airport. The Package includes a wildlife safari in the open savannah wilderness, a guided boat safari, all providing a sight of the big five game. Akagera National Park is interestingly Rwanda’s only savannah park.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1:Arrive at Kigali International Airport and enjoy an onward Helicopter transfer to Akagera National Park – Relax whole Afternoon
Day 2: Morning Guided Game drive with a Bush Breakfast and Afternoon Boat Safari on Lake Ihema
Day 3: Morning Guided Game Drive – Helicopter transfer to Kigali city, Visit the craft souvenir shops and Genocide Rwanda Museum and transfer to the Airport for your onward flight back home

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport and enjoy an onward Helicopter transfer to Akagera National Park – Relax whole Afternoon

Meet and greet at Kigali International Airport where your African Open Savannah Experience in Akagera National Park starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities.  Your will then be transferred to by Road or by Helicopter to Akagera National Park. Here you will meet and greet with our representative who will transfer you to the Lodge.

Day 2: Morning Guided Game drive with a Bush Breakfast and Afternoon Boat Safari on Lake Ihema
Arise this morning for a 2-3 hours’ guided game drive through Akagera National Park, the park is located in the Eastern Part of Rwanda-the land of a thousand hills. Akagera is one of the extensive savannah parks in East Africa and the only one in Rwanda, occupying up to 1122sq.kms of land. It protects diversity of species but essentially, all the big five game-leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos; the distinct roam antelopes, zebras, bush bucks, birds, Masai giraffes, water bucks etc.

In the afternoon, undertake a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Rest in the evening, enjoy the refreshing drinks, and retire for the night,

Day 3: Morning Guided Game Drive – Helicopter transfer to Kigali city, Visit the craft souvenir shops and Genocide Rwanda Museum and transfer to the Airport for your onward flight back home.

After Breakfast, either have a road or helicopter transfer back to Kigali International Airport for our outbound flight back home or to the next Destination, however, depending on the Flight time, we may visit Genocide memorial center in Kigali – The center was officially opened in 2004 to Mark the 10^th commemoration of 1994 genocide that was against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The center serves as the final place where masses can flock to grieve for their lost ones, and as for today; it acts as a museum where both locals and international visitors can learn about the history, implementation and consequences of genocide. Also time allowing we may visit the souvenir shops.
