Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe International Airport – Transfer to Your Hotel
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport where your Uganda Adventure Safari starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. Your will then be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your adventure safari.

Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money Changed on this day and time allowing you may go for city tour with the help of our driver/guide, visit the shopping Malls around town and craft villages to get items which you may need while in upcountry.

Day 2: Domestic Flight Transfer to Kibale National Park – Afternoon Bigodi swamp walk
After morning breakfast, we will have a domestic flight transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. This is Uganda’s largest National park and fast conservation area that derives its name from the thundering Murchison Falls. The beauty of this park is that the Nile River traverses through this wilderness dividing its savannah grassland which leaves the Northern bank roamed by the Big Game while the forest inhabits birds and primates in the Southern Bank.

Murchison Falls National Park is a home an estimate of over 700 individual Rothschild’s giraffes according to 2012 Uganda Wildlife Authority Census Report making it 75% of the total world’s population of these mega fauna species. A three or four to five days Maximum Wildlife circuit to Murchison Falls National Park rewards guests with Big6 Game which includes the Chimpanzees in Budongo Forest and Ziwa rhino sanctuary’s 23 southern white Rhinos.

Day3: Morning Guided Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise
Arise very early in the morning for your game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile in your open-roof vehicle which will give you an excellent opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.

After lunch, go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’, marvel at the schools of hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.

After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you may continue to the top of the falls at an extra fee of $15 per person where you will have the amazing view of the falls! See where the Nile -world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Later, return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

Day 4: Morning Domestic Flight to Semiliki Reserve – Morning Relaxation
After morning breakfast, we will have a domestic flight transfer to Semiliki Reserve – The Park is dominated by the easternmost extension of the great Ituri Forest of the Congo Basin. This is one of Africa’s most ancient and bio-diverse forests; one of the few that survived the last ice age, 12-18,000 years ago. Our guides are always in position to point out and explain the park’s diversity of wildlife and flora and fauna. The Sempaya hot springs are Semliki’s most famous attraction. There’s a “male” spring, known as Bintente, measuring 12m in diameter and is set in a lush swampy clearing. The “female” spring Nyasimbi, meaning “the female ancestors”, is a boiling geyser (103°C) which spurts bubbling water and steam up to two meters high – the steam cloud can be seen from as far as 2km away. Day 5: Morning Shoebill Boat cruise & Walking Safari to the Female Hot springs
If there are visitors who are keen birders and on the lookout for a shoebill, then the ideal place is here in Semiliki reserve where you will have a morning guided boat safari operated by Semiliki Safari lodge to only be rewarded by the top most attractions of the shoebills, African pygmy goose, Blue Breasted and Blue cheeked Bee – eater as well as the Blue – headed Coucal.

Day 6: Domestic Flight Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After Breakfast, we travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is a Home to half of the Worlds Remaining Gorilla Population – it is Africa’s oldest forest and among the few that predate the arid conditions of the last ice age. It contains an exceptional variety of flora and Fauna which include 310 butterflies, 88 moths, 200 trees, 51 Reptiles and 120 types of mammals. The latter includes several primates which include chimpanzees, blue monkeys, L’hoest’s monkey and the Mountain Gorilla.

Birdlife is also exceptionally recognized with over 357 bird species that include the Albertine endemics such as short –tailed warblers, Shelley’s crimson wing, African Broadbill and the blue headed sunbird.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking Experience
After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and water proof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.

Day 8: Helicopter transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park – Tea Experience
Morning Helicopter transfer to Nyungwe National Park. This is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa with a rich biodiversity and spectacular beauty! The mountainous region is teaming with wildlife, including a small population of chimpanzees as well as 12 other species of primate, including the I’Hoest’s monkey endemic to the Albertine Rift. The forest has 15 trails giving a chance to various other activities, visitors can choose to sample the delights of the forest or indulge themselves for a week or more in one of Africa’s most stunning forests.Primate tracking tops most visitor’s list, but it’s worth lingering a little longer for those with time to relax and take in the primal atmosphere. Botanists will marvel at the 1,068 plant species and 140 orchids while bird watching is among the best in Africa with 322 birds species including Red-collared Babbler and 29 other Albertine Rift Endemic species. Butterflies are also a common sight, with at least 120 species.

Whilst, there are 75 known mammals in Nyungwe, such as the cerval cat, mongoose, Congo clawless otter and leopard to name but a few. Many tend to be shy so sightings are luck of the draw thus memorable and photogenic moments include walking up to the Isumo waterfall or along the Canopy Walk suspension bridge. Tea plantations border the edges of the park, with a habituated troop of Ruwenzori colobus monkeys at Gisakura as well as forest fringe birds.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience – Afternoon Canopy walk
Begin your day with a heavy breakfast, after, visit Uwinka reception to meet the park official for briefing about the chimpanzee trekking rules. Set off to search for a habituated chimp community in Nyungwe Forest via Uwinka area and this will be for 2-4 hours and it includes one hour of close encounter. Overnight: One and Only Nyungwe House

Day 10: Helicopter Transfer to Akagera Game Lodge – Afternoon Boat cruise on Lake Ihema
Morning Helicopter transfer to Akagera National Park. This comprise savannah, woodland, wetland and a dozen lakes. The park has been transformed into a Place for World class Safari Experience with largely open expanse for game viewing. Akagera National Park is a home to a family of lions from South Africa which is breeding successfully, and 18 eastern black rhinos have also been reintroduced

Whilst, Visitors can also encounter buffalo, elephant, antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboons, monkeys, an incredible 490 species of Birds, plus much more yet a boat trip on Lake Ihema is also a highlight of any visit to Akagera, with its large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles and abundant water birds on the island in the middle of the lake.

Day11: Full Day Guided Game Drive

Day 12: Private Road transfer to Kigali International Airport

Have morning breakfast and transfer to Kigali for lunch in a selected restaurant and later depending on your flight time visit the Genocide memorial center in Kigali – The center was officially opened in 2004 to Mark the 10th commemoration of 1994 genocide that was against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The center serves as the final place where masses can flock to grieve for their lost ones, and as for today; it acts as a museum where both locals and international visitors can learn about the history, implementation and consequences of genocide.

We will explore the craft villages for souvenir shopping.
