INFORMATION

Gorilla trekking is restricted to guests aged 15 years and above.
Gorilla permits are limited and should be secured well in advance.
Gorilla trekking duration varies depending on the location of the allocated gorilla family.
A reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended.
Wildlife encounters occur in their natural habitat and cannot be guaranteed to follow a specific timeframe.
The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund – Ellen DeGeneres Campus welcomes visitors through a self-guided public tour. While there is no mandatory entrance fee, guests are encouraged to make a suggested conservation donation of USD 20 per adult upon arrival in support of ongoing mountain gorilla conservation. This contribution is officially regarded as a voluntary conservation donation rather than an admission fee.
Guests wishing to enhance their visit may pre-arrange one of the following exclusive conservation experiences:
Behind-the-Scenes Guided Tour – USD 800 per group of up to 5 guests (additional guest: USD 100 per person), maximum 10 guests.
VIP Experience / Silverback Sundowner – USD 1,000 per group of up to 5 guests (additional guest: USD 100 per person), maximum 30 guests.
The suggested USD 20 conservation donation and optional premium experiences are not included in the safari cost and are payable directly at the campus. Upon request, we would be delighted to incorporate these experiences into your bespoke safari package.

YOUR JOURNEY

DAY 1: WELCOME TO RWANDA

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private safari guide before transferring to your luxury hotel in Kigali. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing or exploring Rwanda’s vibrant capital at your leisure.

DAY 2: JOURNEY TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK & CONSERVATION EXPERIENCE

After breakfast, depart Kigali for the magnificent Volcanoes National Park, travelling through Rwanda’s picturesque countryside. En route, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to discover Rwanda’s pioneering conservation efforts before continuing to your luxury lodge for relaxation.

DAY 3: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TRACKING EXPERIENCE

Today promises one of Africa’s most profound wildlife encounters. Venture into the ancient rainforest alongside experienced park rangers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once located, enjoy the extraordinary privilege of spending one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge for an afternoon of relaxation surrounded by the volcanic highlands.

DAY 4: DIAN FOSSEY LEGACY & CULTURAL IMMERSION – DEPARTURE

Following breakfast, embark on a guided hike to the historic Dian Fossey Grave, paying tribute to one of the world’s greatest conservationists. Afterwards, experience Rwanda’s rich traditions at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village before returning to Kigali for your onward international departure.
