This 10 Days – Rwanda and Uganda Wildlife Circuit involves game drives Primate experience and watching. It offers you a chance to visit 2 of the 4 National Parks that make Rwanda one of the most sought-after travel destinations in the East African region. The tour package includes a wildlife safari to Akagera National Park for you to enjoy sight of the big five game in Akagera National Park which is is interestingly, Rwanda’s only savannah park and the famous Nyungwe Forest National Park found in the farther Southern section of Rwanda extends for about 1000sq.kms, sheltering important wildlife species including 13 primate species, 310 species of birds – we crown our safari in Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah national park.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Meet and greet at Kigali Airport-Rwanda
Meet and greet at Kigali International Airport where your Rwanda – Uganda Safari starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. Your will then be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your adventure safari.

Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money Changed on this day and time allowing you may go for city tour with the help of our driver/guide, visit the shopping Malls around town and craft villages to get items which you may need while in upcountry.

Drive through Nyamirambo Township – this is the oldest town in Kigali which has a unique stretched neighbourhood found in south western corner of Kigali that envelopes diverse behaviour with dominancy of Arab – like Culture. It is a huge stretched corner which is sometimes referred to as a gangsters’ Paradise! Characterized with Many Muslim residents, Mosques and unlike other places that close by 8pm with everyone inside their homes, Nyamirambo hustles and rocks late into the nights!

Day 2: Road Trip to Akagera National Park, Eastern Rwanda on second day
Have an early morning breakfast, after, transfer to Akagera National Park, Eastern Rwanda-the land of a thousand hills. Akagera is one of the extensive savannah parks in East Africa and the only one in Rwanda, occupying up to 1122sq.kms of land. The park protects diversity of species but essentially, all the big five game-leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos; the distinct roan antelopes, zebras, bush bucks, birds, Masai giraffes, water bucks etc. Overnight: Ruzizi Tented Camp

Day 3: Guided Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema
In the morning, we will explore the Park’s biodiversity of species of big five herd leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos; the distinct roan antelopes, zebras, bush bucks, birds, Masai giraffes, water bucks etc.
Later in the afternoon, undertake a boat cruise on Lake Ihema and relax whole afternoon at the Lodge

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After morning Breakfast, you will be picked up by your trip guide for a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Have an en-route stop visit at Huye for lunch, later you will drive and arrive early in the Southern section of Rwanda in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Overnight: Emeraude Kivu

Day 5: Morning Chimpanzee Trekking – Afternoon Canopy walk
Begin your day with a heavy breakfast, then lead to Uwinka reception to meet the park official for briefing about the chimpanzee trekking rules. Set off to search for a habituated chimp community in Nyungwe Forest via Uwinka area and this will be for 2-4 hours and it includes one hour of close encounter.

Retreat from Nyungwe Forest National Park and enjoy a delicious lunch, in the afternoon we will have a canopy walk which takes about 2 hours – This is a rewarding experience offering excellent views of primates, birds.

Day 6: Morning Tea Experience – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the Morning, we will have breakfast and then tea Plantation Experience – The Rich volcanic soil gently sloping is the main secret behind the perfect cup of tea that starts right here in Gisakura Tea Estate. Hugging the rippling hills at the western fringes of Nyungwe National Park, this estate is among the most famous of Rwanda’s tea plantations and is certainly the most spectacular.

We will have lunch then a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7: Morning Gorilla Tracking
After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla Tracking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla researchers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla Tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You will move along the Gorillas for over four hours with the before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travellers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

Day 8: Transfer to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – Home of the spectacular tree Climbing lions for a guided sundowner
In the morning, we will have a morning breakfast and transfer to Ishasha sector, home of the tree climbing lions and other mammals that characterize the region. We will reach in time for lunch and we relax as we wait to comb the plains on a sundowner game drive. Overnight: Enjojo Lodge

Day 9: Morning Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon Guided Boat Safari on Lake Mburo
At 8:00, we will travel to Lake Mburo National Park which is the smallest National Park of Uganda and though being small, it has a lot offer!! It is a break between Kampala/Entebbe and all western circuit conservation areas with a Centered series of swamp-fringed lakes its birdlife is very rich. The green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like Zebra, Giraffes, warthog, Eland, Impala, not to mention the lake itself, which is home to schools of hippos and crocodiles. Overnight: Mihingo Lodge

Day 10: Morning walking Safari to the Hyena Den – Transfer to Entebbe International Airport with a stopover at the Equator and Royal Drum factory.

After Breakfast, have a safari walk under the escort of an armed ranger to the hyena den is another remarkable activity. Here the Kopjes are particularly interesting with the camouflage kilspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankole cattle peaceably. It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.

We then transfer to Entebbe with a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations arriving in the afternoon
