Continue east to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only Big Five safari destination, where vast savannahs, rolling hills, wetlands, and shimmering lakes create one of East Africa’s most remarkable conservation success stories.

INFORMATION

Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are restricted to guests aged 15 years and above.
Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are limited and should be secured well in advance.
Wildlife encounters take place in their natural habitats and may vary depending on animal movement.
A reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking.
The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund – Ellen DeGeneres Campus welcomes visitors through a self-guided public tour. While there is no mandatory entrance fee, guests are encouraged to make a suggested conservation donation of USD 20 per adult upon arrival.
Optional premium experiences at the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund include:

VIP Silverback Sundowner – USD 1,000 per group (up to 5 guests)

DAY 1: WELCOME TO RWANDA

DAY 2: DISCOVER KIGALI & NYAMIRAMBO CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Explore Kigali on a privately guided city tour before joining the inspiring Nyamirambo Women’s Centre for an authentic Rwandan cooking class, where traditional recipes, culture, and community come together in an unforgettable culinary experience.

DAY 3: JOURNEY TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Travel east through Rwanda’s picturesque countryside to Akagera National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive across rolling savannahs in search of the Big Five.

DAY 4: AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

Spend the day exploring Rwanda’s only Big Five national park with extensive game drives and a scenic boat safari on Lake Ihema, renowned for its hippos, crocodiles, and prolific birdlife.

DAY 5: VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

DAY 6: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TRACKING EXPERIENCE
